Who We Are

A woman with curly hair, glasses, and multiple buttons on her jacket, sitting at a table with a drink and papers, in a dark room with a textured brown wall and a yellow bag on the side.

Hello!

I didn’t fall in love with books because they were an escape. I fell in love with them because they helped me survive. They gave me words for feelings I didn’t know how to name, introduced me to lives far beyond my own, and reminded me that even when I felt alone, someone, somewhere, had felt this too.

That’s why this space exists.

Because I believe books can change a life. They can make you question everything you’ve been taught, heal parts of yourself you thought were beyond repair, and open doors you didn’t know existed. Sometimes a single story is all it takes to shift the direction of a person’s life.

Lit & Leafy was built on the idea that stories deserve to be taken seriously because people deserve to be taken seriously. This is a place for readers who are curious, who ask difficult questions, who crave honest conversations, and who know that the right book can stay with you forever.

If someone leaves here carrying a story that makes them feel a little less alone, a little more understood, or a little more hopeful than when they arrived, then we’ve done what we came here to do.

In a world that asks us to stop paying attention, we believe books are an act of resistance. Lit and Leafy exists to bring people together around stories that deepen our understanding of ourselves, our neighbors, and the world we want to build. We’re here to nurture curious minds, courageous conversations, and a community that believes every page has the power to move us forward.
